Osage
Garbage Collection
Garbage
is collected weekly in Osage. Tuesday pickup is for both sides of
Main Street
and everything south. Thursday pickup is both sides of
Chase Street
and everything north. Large bags cannot exceed 45 lbs. in weight or 40
gallons in size. A sticker must be affixed to each large bag, cost is
$1.45. Smaller bags, 15 gallons or less, need a sticker affixed to each
bag, cost is $1.20. These prices effective July 15, 2009. For large item
pick-up (i.e., sofa, refrigerator, etc) call Jendro Sanitation at
1-800-232-3525.
Recycling
Is
done every two weeks on the same day as garbage pickup. Call City Hall 641-732-3709
for schedule. All recycling can be put loose into recycling bin. Only
exception is glass. Only clear glass (no window glass or mirrors) is
accepted and must be set out separately from other recyclables. No colored
glass. Most all paper products are accepted. Hard cover books must have
covers removed. Cardboard boxes should be flattened and bundled. No
plastic bags, lids, or oil containers are accepted. All plastics #1
through #5 and #7 are accepted.
Individuals
and businesses may also haul their own garbage, tires, appliances,
televisions, and electronic waste to the Floyd-Mitchell Chickasaw Landfill
located southeast of New Haven.
