Below is some general information on recycling from our local Recycler:
Acceptable Recyclable Material includes:
Cardboard, cleaned and flattened
Paper such as newspaper, junk mail, magazines, mixed office paper and computer paper, paperback books, phone books, and Kraft paper bags
Metal cans(labels can be on), pots, pans, loose aluminum foil
Empty Aerosol Cans
Clear container glass (lids removed) not mixed in with other recyclables
Plastic #1-#5 and #7 (look for the recycling arrows on the container) remove lids
NOT ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS:
Styrofoam
#6 Plastic
Dirty or contaminated materials (pizza boxes)
Wax or plastic coated cardboard such as milk or juice cartons
Wax paper, carbon paper, photos, tissues, napkins, paper towels, paper plates, hard cover book covers, crayon drawings, smoking materials, any plastic bags
Mirrors, ceramics, ovenware, dishes, cups, clay pots, crystal, window glass, plate glass, light bulbs, medicine bottles, container lids under four inches
Unmarked plastics (no recycling arrows)
Stretch wrap, plastic packaging wrap, wrapping paper
Film
Green or Brown Glass
Check the Household Hazardous Waste section of this website for recycling of household items at the Landfill.
